Having a house full of picky eaters, it is sometimes hard to make a snack that everyone agrees upon. One snack that everyone in the house likes is Popcorn!!! (Thank God they can agree on at least one thing) Popcorn is okay with me! It is a lot healthier alternative to cookies and cakes. The only bad part about most store bought popcorns is…they are full of Chemicals. Who likes Chemicals or wants to feed them to their kids? Not me!! That is why when I saw a Pinterest pin for an easy Homemade Microwave Popcorn I knew I had to add it to my list of To be tested pins.
What you need for this Homemade Microwave Popcorn Recipe:
- Dry Popcorn Kernels
- Microwave safe bowl
- Ceramic Plate
- And last but not least a Microwave! (as if you couldn’t have guessed that part)
How to make Homemade Microwave Popcorn:
- First place about 1/4 cup of Popcorn Kernels in a Microwave safe bowl
- Next Place your plate over the bowl and place in the microwave
- Set your Microwave about for 2 minutes 45 seconds and Wait for the Awesomeness to begin!
- Once your Popcorn is done the bowl and Plate will be VERY HOT…Carefully remove the plate right with a pot holder when the popcorn is done. ( to avoid having mushy popcorn)
- Top with salt, butter, or nothing at all…eat and enjoy
So…Did it work?????
I was skeptical at first. The only popcorn that I have ever tried in the Microwave is the store bought and bagged kind. I showed the pin to Miranda, and we both decided that this was a pin that we had to try! So we got everything we needed, put it together, placed it in the Microwave, set the timer, and waited.
Much to our surprise the popcorn kernels began to pop! As a matter of fact, every popcorn kernel popped. The true test however is the TASTE TEST!!! I could not believe it…it was crisp and puffy popcorn just like if I had made it on the stove! I LOVE this pin test! It is so much faster and less messy than the stove top popcorn alternative to the store bought popcorn.
PIN TESTED, PIN PROVED!!!!
Thank you Cherryvale Farms for the recipe and the inspiration!!!!!
Need a sound boost?
You can follow this iPhone Sound Booster tutorial from a toilet paper roll to increase not just the volume but the quality of the sound too!!
My New Phone
I recently bought the iPhone 5.
Yes, I am an Android convert.
I was actually kind of dissapointed by the sound quality of the iPhone.
However, a really awesome person came up with this idea to give your iPhone a better sound and increase the volume.
The speakers on the iPhone 5 are at the very bottom of the phone. So, if you place it into a hollow tube like that of a toilet paper roll, you can get an awesome sound boost!
Seriously, when you place it into the toilet paper roll it sounds sooo much better!
To set up your iPhone Sound Booster
Toilet paper roll
What You Do:
Cut a rectangle that will fit your phone into the top of the toilet paper roll.
Place thumb tacks into the bottom as legs. The tacks will keep the toilet paper roll, or rather your iPhone sound booster, from rolling away!
We couldn’t believe how well this actually worked! I actually began imagining how I would dress up my new iPhone sound booster. I’m thinking I could try out some of those fancy and cute duct tape rolls at Wal-Mart with the neon colors or the patterns. Or maybe I will bedazzle it. I don’t know but this is great to have in my bathroom while I am taking a nice hot bath or outside while working in the yard.
I know it seems ridiculous, but it really is that great!
Don’t have an iPhone but need a sound boost?
If your smartphone’s speakers are not at the bottom of your phone like the iPhone then try out the bowl method we tested a few months ago. It works!
My children are very picky eaters! So in our house, instead of buying the “icky school lunch” (my kids words…not mine) We pack our lunches. This is a great solution, the only problem with it is every kid wants something different! I end up with four or five different kinds of Potato chip bags open at once…and they get stale before we can finish them. When I saw a way to make a simple Homemade Bag Clip with a hanger on Pinterest, I knew that this was the perfect solution to our stale situation!
What You need for your Homemade Bag Clips:
- A hanger! That is all you need…One of the hangers that is used to hang pants or a skirt
How to make your Bag Clip:
- This homemade bag clip is very easy to make. It only requires one easy step….Remove the “clip” off of the hanger and place it on the bag you need to close!
What I thought about this Pin Test:
I love this pin test! It is very simple and easy to make, and best of all it is FREE!!!! Almost every person has at least one of the pants hangers that is required to make this bag clip. This bag clip is so easy to use, that even my children can take it off and place it back on while they are making there school lunch. No more stale Potato chips!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this great and simple idea craftster.org
