I found out how easy crock pot hot wings are this weekend. It is a great idea for anyone needing to serve delicious finger foods for their upcoming Superbowl party! We invited friends over and enjoyed these along with some homemade potato wedges!
I have attempted my own hot wings before and have always failed horribly. They have either been too crispy or the sauce doesn’t hold to the wings. So this time I turned to Pinterest for some ideas on how to cook my 5 pound bag of frozen wings and drumettes.
How I Made Crock Pot Hot Wings
- My husband works in the transportation department for a food service company. We have access to some great deals including a giant bottle of Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce!! I filled the crock pot about halfway with the sauce and then placed my chicken inside. My chicken pieces just so happened to be frozen.
- I cooked them on low for 7 hours, until the internal temperature was 165 degrees.
- I then removed them from the crock pot and placed them on my broiler pan.
- I covered them with the sauce from the crock pot and placed them in the oven on broil for 5 minutes.
Oh My Gosh!!! They were DELICIOUS! PIN PROVED IT!!!!
However, I would suggest watching the temperature of the chicken better than I did. The cooking time may be less because my hot wings were falling off the bone, maybe a little too much. Regardless, I would rate these wings better than any I have ever tried in my entire LIFE. Yes, my entire LIFE!
