I HATE cleaning the bathtub!!! Hate cleaning it with a passion! It is always one of last things on my “to do” Household cleaning list. So when I saw the idea for an Easy Shower and Tub Cleaner on Pinterest, I knew I had to test it. If not for me, then at least for the sake of my children!
What you need for your Shower and Tub Cleaner:
- Dawn dish washing liquid
- Scrubby dish wand
How to use it:
The idea is first you mix your vinegar and dish soap in your scrubby dish wand, using equal parts of each. Wet down the inside of your shower… Then before (or after) you shower, you use the dish wand full of your shower and tub cleaner to gently scrub down the inside of your bathtub. Being sure to rinse it off well when you are done.
What I thought:
Well, let me start off by saying that I hate the smell of vinegar. If you have read any of my previous posts involving vinegar then you are aware of this! haha However, I hate cleaning the shower a million times worse than I hate the smell of vinegar!
In the original post where I got the idea from, she states to “make sure you keep the wand upright so the liquid doesn’t leak out”. Having never used a dish wand before, I was not sure exactly what she meant…I AM NOW!!! hahaha I thought to myself that it made more since to add the vinegar first, that way all of the dish soap didn’t get stuck near the scrubby part of the dish wand. Well it turns out I was wrong! I now know what The Joyful Homemaker was talking about! As I poured my vinegar in, it started to leak out of the hole near the scrubber part of the wand. I think next time I will add the soap first.
As I mentioned above I like cleaning my shower like I would like having the plague! (well not really
that bad, but you get the point) So this method is a great alternative to my normal spray and scrub routine. It not only took less effort, but my shower hasn’t looked this clean in years! haha I am only kidding about the years part…my shower hasn’t looked this clean in weeks! I will be doing this again for sure!!!!!
