Will this Home Cleaning Recipe Save you Money?
These household ingredients are likely already in your cabinets. The only thing that costs more than I really like to spend myself is the essential oil. Fortunately it is completely optional but definitely recommended! If you want your furniture dusting spray to smell as good as Pledge then you will want to use the essential oil. But lets compare the cost:
A bottle of pledge will cost you around $3.
A bottle of homemade furniture dusting spray will cost you around 41 cents! (Add a dollar if you need to buy a spray bottle)
Yes, making your own furniture dusting spray will save you money compared to buying pledge!
Does Homemade Furniture Dusting Spray Work?
I tested this recipe by cleaning the worst of the worst places in my house for dust collection!
The top of the TV stand.
The dusting spray cleaned it right up without throwing the dust right back into the air. This is important to me because both my husband and my oldest daughter have dust allergies. I usually have to dust when they are gone to reduce the risk that stirring up the dust will stir up their sinuses. The homemade pledge worked really well at making dusting a cleaner way to clean.
However, the oil does seem to separate from the vinegar, as expected. So be sure to give it a good swirl and shake before using.
