One of the hardest parts of being a Mother is trying to get your children to eat healthy foods. If your children are anything like mine it is a struggle to fix something that everyone likes and will eat at every meal… let alone snacks. One of the easiest ways to get your kids to eat healthy is to trick them! HA HA HA I know what you are thinking, it isn’t right to trick your kids, but a mother has to do what a mother has to do. With the heat of summer one of the best and healthy ways to cool your kids down is with some Healthy Homemade Popsicles.
I don’t know if you have looked at the label of the popsicles brand that you normally purchase, but when I looked at the label of my kids popsicles I was shocked. It had a ton of added sugar and very little nutritional value. It is very hard to get in all the fruits and veggies that my kids need in a day, and even harder when they are eating sugar water for snacks. When I saw the pin on Pinterest from the Clumsy Crafter for easy and health popsicles I knew I would have to make some for my little munchkins asap.
What you need for Healthy Homemade Popsicles:
- Popsicle Mold
- Juice … I used Naked Brand “Blue Machine” juice. I chose this juice because it is all natural and packed full of vitamins with NO SUGAR added!!!!
- Optional…Sliced Strawberries, Blueberries, or the fruit of your choice
How to make Healthy Homemade Popsicles:
- Fill your popsicle mold with the natural juice of your choice. (if you are choosing to add sliced fruit then you would add it now.)
I let my kids taste the Naked Juice before we froze it, and that didn’t go over to well. It is a bit thicker than the typical apple and orange juice they normally drink.
After freezing the juice in our popsicle mold the kids ate them like they were going out of style. (I didn’t tell them what they were made of until after they were all on their second popsicle.
Each and every kid loved the Healthy Homemade Popsicles!!!!!
Thank you Clumsy Crafter for this wonderfully Healthy popsicle idea!
