I know we always test ideas from other people that we find on Pinterest, but I found myself looking for an easy last minute lightsaber for Halloween. I was in a fix…My son is going to be a Star Wars guy? (I am not sure which one…as I am not familiar with star wars) The only light sabers to be found were $25 and up! As I have said before, I am a cheapskate! I knew I had to think of something, cause you can’t be a Star Wars guy(???) without a lightsaber!
At first I thought about making my Husband make him one of wood. Then I thought again! I can see it now…I would have a grumpy husband, because he had slaved over this light stick saber thing for hours! All my (5 year old) son was going to do with it was hit trees…or his sisters…or other little trick or
treater’s…or puppy’s! (I am only kidding, my son doesn’t hit puppy’s!) I would also have a son that was in trouble for hitting trees…or his sisters…or other trick or treater’s!
Then It hit me! My cheapskate wheels began to turn!
What You Need:
- 1 Long Bubble Wand (I found mine at Wal-mart for $1)
- 1 Glow stick (I bought a pack of Glow Bracelets)
What you do:
- Take the plastic wrap off of your bubble wand and screw off the lid.
- Crack your glow stick until it glows (DON’T break it open)
- Place your glow stick into your bubble wand
Vuala!!! It is a Lightsaber!
What I love about this Idea is
you can use the bubble wand to blow bubbles after you are done using it as a Star Wars lightsaber! Another thing is you might already have these items in your home! I didn’t
however…but it still only cost me under $2 to make it!
A Pin-Tried-It original idea!!!
