Pinterest tested Kool Aid Play Dough smells so good! Thanks to one of the Pin Tried It Facebook followers, Amy Peterson Chase,- we learned about this Kool Aid Play Dough recipe that is easy and smells yummy! Amy said she first learned about it on Pinterest.
The last time I made home made play dough I swore I would never do it again! It took every ounce of muscle I had in me to stir the play dough once it began to thicken up. I asked Amy if it was difficult to mix and she said “Nope Not at All”. So, I decided to give it a try for myself!
What You Need:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
cream of tartar
1 package unsweetened Kool Aid mix
1 cup water
1Tbsp vegetable oil
How to Make Kool Aid Play Dough:
Mix the dry ingredients including the Kool Aid. Then put into a medium saucepan and add the liquid ingredients over medium heat. Stir the mixture until it simply doesn’t mix anymore. It will take about 3-5 minutes.
Remove from pan and knead until all the stickiness is gone.
Repeat for any additional colors.
The Play Dough was easy to make! Amy was right, there was not major muscle useage involved in this
one. Once it became hard to mix it was time to stop!
Thanks to the Kool Aid mix, they smell so yummy!Almost good enough to eat- but I think we all know how that would end! lol
One batch makes what I believe is equivalent to 2 standard Play-Do cups!
The only problem I found was the cost. Cream of Tartar runs around $4.50 where I live. I was able to make 2 batches from $4.50 worth of Cream of Tartar! When it comes to whether this is cost-saving, I would just buy Play-Do at the store for a dollar a can. But then I would miss out on the lovely smell of grapes and strawberries!
Definitely a Pin Proved It!
