It’s the simple tricks that make me say “How in the world did I not already think of this!?”. Case in point- wrapping a paint can with a rubber band. Doing this allows you to scrape your paintbrush off onto the rubber band, instead of the edge of the paint can. This is the perfect tip for me! It seems no matter how hard I try to be neat and clean when painting- I eventually glob up the can and make a mess. So during my latest painting project, I tested out the rubber band trick to keep your paint cans clean.
Keep Paint Cans Clean
This was sort of a no-brainer. The rubber band absolutely did it’s job keeping my paint can clean! I saw this on Pinterest and will probably do this for the rest of my life. This will come in especially handy the next time I am painting with my kids. My husband made them a play house last summer and they helped me paint. They were 5 and 3, so you can imagine the mess we had!
My kids were using some of those paint holder cans we found at Walmart. Although this picture was
taken early in our painting adventure, you can kind of see, the paint had begun dripping all over the edges. The paint
later ended up down their hands and the mess began. If only I had known about the rubber band trick earlier in my life!
The rubber band trick to keep paint cans clean would have worked really well here. I am so glad I saw the rubber band to keep paint cans clean trick on Pinterest- it will definitely make future projects easier and cleaner.
Of course, this would be a Pin Proved It!
Be sure to keep rubber bands handy for your next painting project.
